What you get

  • Text in the chatCopy it wherever you need it. Keep chatting to adjust the tone, length, or wording.

How it works

  1. Say what kind of update it is (weekly, monthly, launch, or ad hoc), who will read it, and what happened: progress, blockers, decisions made or needed, and what comes next.
  2. askROI's Send a stakeholder update tool asks about anything missing, then writes the update in the format that audience expects, such as a status color and a one-line TL;DR for executives or owners and blockers for engineers.
  3. Copy it into your email or chat post, or keep chatting to adjust the tone, the level of detail, or the emphasis.

What people use it for

  • Leadership updatesa short, outcome-focused note with a status color, risks with mitigations, and specific asks.
  • Engineering updateswhat shipped, what is in progress with owners, and the decisions the team is waiting on.
  • Cross-functional partnerswhat is coming that affects design, marketing, sales, or support, and what you need from them.
  • Customer and launch noteswhat is new, framed as benefits, with no internal jargon.
  • Escalationsa one-off update that states the problem, the options, and the decision you need.

Questions

Which audiences does it write for?
Executives and leadership, engineering teams, cross-functional partners, customers, and boards. Each gets a different structure and length: an executive update stays under 300 words, while an engineering update can carry more detail.
Does it ask questions first?
If your message leaves them out, it asks what kind of update this is and who it is for, then what was accomplished, what is blocked, what needs deciding, and what is next.
How does it choose the status color?
From your own assessment. Green means on track, yellow means at risk with mitigation under way, and red means off track and in need of help. It reflects the situation you describe rather than the most comfortable color, and flags yellow early.
How is this different from the AI Status Report Generator?
The status report uses one full structure with metrics, risk, and decision tables for a single project. The stakeholder update changes its format and length for each audience and cadence, from a board summary to a customer launch note.
What does it not do?
It does not send the update or pull information from your tools; it writes from what you tell it in the chat. It also does not hide bad news behind good news: when something is off track, it leads with it.
