Export formats

  • Word document (.docx) Opens in Word, Pages, and Google Docs.
  • PDF (.pdf) Opens anywhere and prints as laid out.

Every export also lands in your Library as an artifact you can revise, share with a link, and pick up again in another chat.

How it works

  1. Pick what was denied, then give the insurer, the claim or reference number, the denial reason and your reasons.
  2. askROI writes a one page letter that opens with your request, sets out your facts, and closes with what you are asking for, then builds the Word file.
  3. Check every detail, then send it yourself the way your denial notice says.

What people use it for

  • A denied test or treatment answer the insurer's stated reason with what your doctor told you.
  • A denied claim explain what happened on the date of care, with the claim number at the top.
  • A denied prescription state what you have already tried, in your doctor's words.
  • Sending records mention your doctor's note or records and the letter adds an enclosures line.

Questions

What is the difference between an internal appeal and an external review?

HealthCare.gov describes two ways to appeal. An internal appeal asks your insurance company to do a full and fair review of its own decision. An external review takes the appeal to an independent third party, so the insurer no longer gets the final say. This letter is written to your insurer, so it fits an internal appeal best.

How long do I have to appeal?

HealthCare.gov says to file an internal appeal within 180 days of receiving notice that your claim was denied, and to request an external review in writing within 4 months of the notice or final decision. If your health situation is urgent, you can ask for an external review at the same time as your internal appeal. Your insurer has to tell you how to dispute its decision, so check your denial notice.

Will it quote my policy or medical guidelines?

Only if you give them. The letter uses the facts, policy wording and doctor's notes you supply, exactly as you give them, and it never invents a policy reference, a date or an amount. A missing detail, such as your name or member ID, gets a clearly marked placeholder for you to fill in.

What does it not do?

It does not file the appeal, contact your insurer or your doctor, or decide the outcome, and it cannot promise a denial will be overturned. It is not legal or medical advice.

Can I get it as a PDF instead?

Yes. Ask for a PDF and askROI converts it, so you can upload it to your insurer's portal or fax it.

Is it free?

Yes. You can write an appeal letter on the free plan. Paid plans raise the usage limits and include more credits for Premium mode.
